Information on the European Union
Information Centre on European Institutions (CIIE)
The CIIE is a member of the Europe Direct Network, the official information network of the European Commission. It aims at providing information to the general public, as well as to those seeking more specialised information on current EU policies and on the functioning of EU institutions.
Enterprise Europe Network
The Enterprise Europe Network is hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Strasbourg and the Bas-Rhin, whose main purpose is to support the development and promotion of industrial and commercial enterprises and the service sector.
The EIC provides specialised information and advisory services on EU matters. Its main objective is to support the development of enterprises on the European market through a better knowledge of EU regulations and increased access to financial sources and programs offered by the EU.
European Documentation Centres (EDC)
The main aims of the network of European Documentation Centres are to help universities and research institutes promote and develop education and research on European integration, to encourage them to take part in the debate on Europe and to make Europe more transparent by helping ordinary citizens to learn about the Union’s policies.
EURES-T – Oberrhein/Higher Rhine Cross-border
EURES-T Oberrhein/Rhin Supérieur is part of the European network EURES (EURopean Employment Services). The aim of this network is to promote free movement and mobility in the European Economic Area.
The partnership has 17 EURES advisers who are responsible for informing and guiding the population of the Upper Rhine (job seekers, companies etc.) on border issues relating to living and working conditions, the labour market, social security and questions of labour law, social rights and taxation, and for providing assistance with recruitment and placement.
Center for Consumer Protection in Europe
The Center for Consumer Protection in Europe is a French German association based in Kehl (Germany). Alongside providing consumers from all over Europe with information and legal advice, the association’s main objective is to support consumers in an alternative dispute resolution procedure with a trader based in another EU country, Norway or Iceland“.

European Agency for the operational management of large-scale IT systems in the area of freedom, security and justice (eu-LISA)
Establishment of Eu-LISA to manage large information systems in the area of freedom, security and justice. It actively supports the implementation of EU policies in the areas of asylum, migration and border management.
Eurocorps
The Eurocorps was created in 1993 by a Franco-German initiative. It aims to strengthen the ties between European countries in matters of cooperation, security and defense. The Eurocorps is prepared to carry out humanitarian aid missions, peacekeeping missions and common defense missions.
The Eurocorps is not a direct body of the European Union: only five EU countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Spain) are members.
Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine
Created in 1816, the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine is in charge of ensuring the safety and the prosperity of navigation on the Rhine.
European Science Foundation
The European Science Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote high-level science at a European level, to forge and to consolidate collaborative research between scientists and research funding agencies in certain domains (as diverse as neurobiology and medieval history), and to analyse questions of political science and research to propose solutions.
The European Cultural Channel ARTE
ARTE, established in 1991, is an European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG), financed by a license fee collected in France and in Germany. The purpose of ARTE is to promote and broadcast cultural and international programs in the hope of creating a better understanding among Europeans.
Assembly of European Regions
Created in 1985, the Assembly of European Regions (AER) currently has members from 30 countries. The aim of the AER is to promote regional democracy and solidarity and to forge the development of interregional cooperation in Europe.

Infobest Kehl-Strasbourg
The main objective of this body is to provide information and advice to citizens, companies, administrative bodies and associations on a wide range of topics with cross-border relevance and, furthermore, to promote regional initiatives in matters of cross-frontier cooperation.
Euro-Institute
The main objective of the Euro-Institute is to promote cross-border cooperation via continuous education, research and advice so as to improve the efficiency of cross-frontier projects.
Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau
The Strasbourg-Ortenau Eurodistrict is a Franco-German territory bringing together the Urban Community of Strasbourg and the Ortenau district.
The Eurodistrict has a special status which makes it a pilot European territory for promoting cross-border exchanges and developing projects in all areas of daily life, from transport to health, culture and sport.

The "Eurorepertoire", a Guide to European Organisations in the Upper Rhine area
The “Eurorepertoire”, published for the first time in 1997, lists 147 international and European institutions and organisations in the Upper Rhine area. It highlights the density of the activities and competences of the organisations, it lists experiences and publications, and it lists the players involved in the construction and development of the European idea.
